Fourth of July

A wonderful time was had by all on the Fourth. we all met at the hall at 5:30 and enjoyed a pot luck and Brisket. The brisket was made by Linda and Al. I, myself, had never had brisket before and they done a wonderful job on it, the flavor was awesome and it was tender. After the clean up in the hall, a few of us went in the card room and enjoyed a game of 65.

Fun with the family

Fox and I recently flew to
San Jose California, a gift we received from our youngest son, Mark, for our Anniversary, which was in December. We flew out of Austin...First Class....Don't that airplane food look good?, but you know me I like, hospital, nursing home, airplane, what the heck, I love my own cooking,I love to eat!!!!
We had a great time, as always. We went to visit our oldest son Dan and his wife Pattie and their three children. We done a lot in the week we were there. We spent one evening in the park at a concert, everyone took their own chairs, food wine, what ever. One day was spent with my only sister, she is from Modesto, she brought along with her,one of her Daughters, who has twin boys(age 2) and another daughters child, who is (1-1/2) . It kept us busy chasing after three boys about the same age. OH, to have that much energy again...Notice the ladder golf in the background, we played that and a lot of other outdoor and indoor games the week we were there. One of the days everyone went golfing except Jennie(8)and I, so we painted rocks, I love to do kids stuff and we really had fun doing that together.Aren't they just gorgeous? Hunting for the rock was equally fun...One day we spent biking around San Jose, we managed to muster up 8 bikes, after the bike ride we had Ice cream. Another day we went Geo caching at Quick Silver, Quick Silver is practically in the kids back yard. When you get to the top, you can see the whole City of San Jose, BEAUTIFUL.The kids found a lot of stuff, but one was a traveling cow and another a helicopter. One of the days was spent in the park playing Boccie Ball, (the last picture), and I won't tell you which team got the 8, I wouldn't mention it, but it is so evident in the picture, that's O.K. we had a real good time and I think our Grand dog Shelbie even enjoyed herself.
I would like to mention also, that we took a trip in June(11days), up to our son in Austin, to babysit the dog, while his family went on vacation, we were so looking forward to living the life of luxury in his beautiful home for a week, but, that trip was overshadowed by the death of Fox's brother out in Nebraska, so I spent four of those days alone in Austin, while Fox flew home for the funeral, but as we all know life is unpredictable!!!!
